This article will explain migration steps which are needed to get an existing domain with an active Cloudflare plan migrated to a Cloudflare plan through WebFirewall (WebFirewall is a Cloudflare Partner).
1. Domain
Here you type the domain that you want to migrate to WebFirewall.
2. Services
Choose your Cloudflare subscription.
3. Subscription
Verify subscription and accept terms.
4. Migration
In this step, you must be aware of a few things.
If your domain has SSL enabled on Cloudflare already this certificate needs to be reauthorized. Depending on which Cloudflare subscription reauthorization takes some time.
Cloudflare SSL authorization times
Cloudflare Free plan: up to 24 hours.
Cloudflare Pro and Business plan: up to 15 minutes.
If you want to avoid access interruption to your SSL enabled website when the SSL certificate is being reauthorized for the domain, we recommend disabling Cloudflare proxy (change arrow through the orange cloud to go around the orange cloud), and when SSL certificate is active reenable the Cloudflare proxy again to "arrow through the orange cloud".
IMPORTANT NOTE: The reason why the SSL reauthorization is needed is that enabling the domain on WebFirewall ultimately deletes the domain on Cloudflare for a few seconds and recreates it again through the Cloudflare API associating the domain with WebFirewall. This procedure will not incur any interruption for the domain in general other than the need for the SSL certificate to be reauthorized.
ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: If the existing domain on Cloudflare already has a paid Cloudflare plan, this plan will be terminated and replaced with a Cloudflare plan through WebFirewall.
Changing to WebFirewall might cause an overlap in cost for the remainder of a subscription period directly with Cloudflare which is non-refundable.
